Can a Palm Beach County family pay for field trips, museums, camps & summer programs with scholarship funds?

It depends on the program: Unique Abilities and Private School Scholarship can pay for it; PEP can pay only with conditions. The cards below give each program's rule.

Private School Scholarship (FTC/FES-EO)Eligible from leftover funds after tuition

A school field-trip fee is an eligible fee; other admissions come from leftover funds.

Which rules apply to field trips, museums, camps & summer programs?

  • Camp lodging and meals are never covered, and published fees plus proof of attendance are required.
  • Out-of-state trips need pre-authorization.

Typical Palm Beach stops that fit the museum, zoo and park categories include the Palm Beach Zoo, the Norton Museum of Art, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach, the Morikami Museum in Delray Beach and John D. MacArthur Beach State Park. Keep the student-priced receipt.

How does a family buy field trips, museums, camps & summer programs?

Look in MyScholarShop first, because its listings are pre-approved. Next try Find Providers in EMA, which lets the account pay tutors, therapists and instructors directly. If neither fits, pay by card, hold the itemized receipt and file for reimbursement. A purchase the guides do not list as eligible needs pre-authorization before you spend.
